Spent the weekend at a science-fiction convention. Kelly wan’t able to go, as she was involved in preparing a wedding for a friend of ours, but I did get to spend the weekend with Shelly, M. my archnemesis, and several other close personal friends that I really don’t spend enough time with.
I got to glue computer parts onto Shelly’s body, which is always a good time. We all played Drunken Strip “Are You a Werewolf?”, which is also a good time. Are You a Werewolf? is a great game to begin with, and as we all know, drunkenness and nakedness make everything better (with the possible exception of open-heart surgery, though even that is up in the air).
And now, back at the office, things are back to normal, for some value of “normal.”
More later. But first, Trick or Treating and another moment of Zen, hidden behind a cut…

what convention?
I’ll second the sentiment. Which convention?
Necronomicon. It’s held in Tampa every year. It’s only about a tenth the size of, say, DragonCon, but it’s local and it’s a great way to hang out with friends. 🙂
So it’s only what, two thousand? Oh yeah, tiny… 🙂
Note to self: Must get to DragonCon at some point…
Necronomicon. A local (Tampa) convention, small but still fun.
well, i’m an avid con-goer who just moved to tampa…got a website?
Welcome to Tampa! 🙂
The Web site for Necro is at http://www.stonehill.org/necro.htm
Do you like gaming (role-playing, board, or card games)? If so, you should think about joining us for game night one night–a group of friends host a weekly game night every Wednesday evening.
i’d love to…i’m not much into role playing, but Jason (my significant other is)
We usually play games like “Zendo,” “Munchkin,” and “Are You a Werewolf?” “Munchkin” is a parody of role-playing games, so it’s definitely funnier if you’ve played RPGs before.
It’d be fun to meet you two, and game night is definitely a blast. Email me (tacitr@aol.com) if you want to arrange a get-together.

Oh, please explain Drunken Strip “Are You a Werewolf.”
Assuming you’re familiar with the regular rules for Are You a Werewolf:
Players start with five articles of clothing. Each round, either the villiagers or the werewolf will win. Each round, if you belong to the losing side (eg, if you’re a villiager or the Seer and the village gets eaten), you lose one article of clothing, or you drink. If you have no remaining clothing, you get some other penalty–for example, a spanking from the other players.
The moderator is neither a villiager nor a werewolf. if you play with the same moderator every time, then each round before the game starts the moderator sides with the villiagers or the werewolves. Otherwise, the moderator from each round deals the cards to the players the next round in such a way as to ensure the same person can’t be moderator twice.
