Oh, my GOD, funniest thing EVAR

All the other things I’ve called the “funniest thing ever?” All lies. The real funniest thing ever:

The Nietzsche Family Circus

It takes a random Family Circus cartoon and pairs it with a random Nietzsche quote. merovingian, I think this is right up your alley. The Family Circus is arguably the most dreadful, insipid, flaccid, banal comic ever created by man, but Nietzsche makes it all good. A few of my favorites:

  1. Hello!

My girlfriend made a post on about problems we’re having, and your response was interesting and thoughtful, and made me want to read more of your musings. So, er, hello! Thanks for The Nietzsche Family Circus link!

    • A very surreal sense of humor, perhaps. But honestly, how can anyone not find a character from The Family Circus wearing Mickey Mouse ears and talking about the idea man alone laughs because man alone suffers so deeply, uproriously funny? Seriously, I do believe The Nietzsche Family Circus is possibly the single funniest thing on the Net. 🙂

    language.

Some days ago i’ve found russian-language poly oriented
    community in LJ: http://community.livejournal.com/ru_poly/ I
would be very beholden to you for permittion of publishing my
translations in that place. Of cause i’ll make credit to you and
    links to original texts.

Speaking truth, i just publish my translation of your text about
refrigerator and people found it very helpfull. Please, excuse
me for doing that without your permittion. I’ll remove it if you
    are against it.

    Best Regards
    Anton

PS English is ‘read only’ language for me, so please excuse me for bad grammer etc

  6. I was directed to your journal today, and have spent much of my work day since then researching this new interpretation of Family Circus.

Related to this, I discovered that the strip “Garfield” is both funnier and more tragic when Garfield’s dialogue is removed. The visual gags are no longer overnarrated, and Jon becomes a sad protagonist whose primary social outlet is talking to a cat.
