Call to the Lazyweb

So I want to start selling posters of the Map of Human Sexuality wholesale to sex toy stores and places like that, and I’m trying to get a feel for places that might be interested in carrying it. dayo suggested approaching the The Museum of Sex in NYC (and how cool is it that there IS a museum of sex?). I was thinking of cool, indie placesike Blowfish.

So, any ideas out there in LJ-land? Thoughts? Suggestions?

  1. http://www.a-womans-touch.com/?gclid=CPyymYWKj5kCFQ4MDQodJGrVZw (sorry i dunno how to do your fancy links) This is A Woman’s Touch in madison, the woman-centric toy store, they might be interested!

I think that a better idea would be finding the poster stores/head shops in college towns. There’s a few down town in Madison, one called “Poster Master Ltd”, or “Knuckleheads” http://www.knuckleheadstobacco.com/

College kids love things like this!

    Good luck!

Ooh! The cons!!! I second this idea! Bring a few to Frolicon and make up some business cards that feature it, along with promoting Onyx! How about a t-shirt to advertise both while at the con?

If you can give x/y coordinates, you can get people to wear badges or carry passports with same. Would be a good way to get sales if people are able to tell fetishes just be comparing a poster to a badge.

Might also work if you can people of similar geographic interests to group/organize.

  3. My favorite source for adult playthings is Poster Hut on Cheshire Bridge in Atlanta. They’re not your typical sex supply store for the Atlanta area. They’ve got a lot of great, usable products and reference materials. I bet they would be interested!

  5. Yay! I’m glad my sleepy shower musings are going to good use. Before you ship overseas in bulk let me check some regs for you. You don’t want to get dinged with obscenity violations…and what is considerd obscene (by law) varies greatly.

  9. I’ll check with my piercing place. They sell a whole lot of random stuff, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were interested. Their name is Cheap Trx and they are in St. Louis, MO.
