Weekend thoughts

DragonCon

DragonCon is a large, busy science fiction convention held every year in Atlanta. No, sadly, we didn’t go. bandage and M were able to attend this year, together with a large group of friends, but we, alas, were not.

So instead we spent the weekend with moonshadowdance, lightgatherer, their partner Chris, ucertola, and a group of other friends.

We had a blast.

What every evil genius needs…

…is a good archnemesis. And I believe I’ve found just the person.

He has all the qualities one generally looks for in an archnemesis: he’s intelligent, we see eye to eye on most things, we get along very well, our philosophies and worldview are generally compatible. There’s just one catch: He’s not a superhero, he’s an evil genius as well.

But I figure I can overlook that. After all, the “evil genius/superhero” thing has been done to death anyway.

So without further ado, I give you:

LiveJournal Drama

Yesterday, a friend of mine referred me to a journal whose author, who I will call “Junior” to protect the guilty, referred to me as “a reckless, double-talking, lying, swindling, womanizing buffoon.” I was quite disappointed that he left out “scruffy-looking” as well. I’ve always rather enjoyed being referred to as “scruffy-looking.”

In any event, since this is LJ, and LJ is all about drama, after all, I thought I’d put it to a vote. So, today’s question, boys and girls, is: “Is Tacit a reckless, double-talking, lying, swindling, womanizing buffoon?” Ready? Here we go!

  1. A few thoughts…

    (1) I thought that I was your arch nemesis. Or arching something, I forget which. Either way is fine as long as I get to wear the corsette. Eric does make a fine arch nemesis for you. Looking forward to the death match now.
    (2) I think you’re scruffy looking, muffin. In that really cool demented eveil genius kind of way. At least he got the womanizing bit right. Of course, I prefer the term “slut” myself (we womanizers really must stick together).
    (3) Where can I get a cool poly dragon sticker?
    (4) Where do I send the warranty card for the siding again?

Well, hell, you’d make an excellent arch-nemesis, but I don’t want to hog all the good ones. How about a henchman? I have the position of henchman available!

And thank you. Not enough people call me “scruffy-looking.” 🙂

The sticker should be available on Mike’s Web site (have you met him? He had bright blue hair for a while) if and when he ever gets it online. I do plan to link to it, assuming it ever goes up.

  3. This comment brought to you by the “Who was the imbecile who scheduled DragonCon in conflict with WorldCon” society.

And sleepless convention nights, must not forget those.
