Since I was surrounded by people saying things like “I better not forget the roses or the wife’ll be pissed”, indicating that they were *supposed* to do something nice to avoid punishment, not cuz they actually *desired* to send happy wishes to their sweeties, it’s easy for me to forget that I like nice things too and instead I get wrapped up in feelings of obligation and guilt.
