Alcor is sponsoring a free seminar on cryonics and cryomedicine in Palm Beach Gardens on Saturday, September 17th. Free food, talks by a bunch of people (including the Alcor CEO), announcements about cryopreservation, and a bunch of other good stuff.
Shelly and I are planning to go, and we’d like to make a caravan of it. Anyone else in the area interested? datan0de and company? smoocherie and company? Anybody?
I had heard about that on the wta Florida list. I’m going to attend the cyronics panel @ DragonCon next weekend. If that goes well for me, I may hook up with ya go to this one too.

I don’t suppose you’d like to take semi-temporary custody of some old Macs? It would make my mother shut up about driving over there to get them. The Performa might as well be turned into a plant stand, but the iMac should have some useful life remaining. I haven’t been willing to trust them to UPS, for obvious reasons.

I checked to see if you were on AIM this afternoon to ask you the very same question! Yes, the Smoosh is all going, along with our demigod friend Dave. With 5 people in the truck I don’t think we’ll be able to do much more carpooling than that, but I’m definitely up for a caravan!

I think I recognize about half of the graphic significance in your icon; I recognize the heart-and-infinity-sign of one of the more popular polyamory icons. Is the heart in the form of a pair of kissing dragons, or is that something else? And does it only indicate that you like dragons, or is there more to it?

It is the heart-and-infinity symbol of polyamory, redone by a friend of mine in tribal style. Why dragons? Because dragons are cool, and a popular image in tribal designs. 🙂
