The most common bumper stickers I see here in Sydney are radio station promotional ones. Then “Magic Happens”, then small stickers on back windows for private schools. The only political sticker I’ve seen is a “Not happy, John” one from the last election. The christians tend to stick to their fish ones.
Perhaps the concept of political bumper bars hasn’t caught on as much here. Thankfully.

Never seen the stickers you are referring to. The ones in Michigan that really piss me off are the ones that say “God is Pro-Life”. Really? He is? I thought he was Pro-CHOICE! You know, free will, and all that… Holy wars… Allowing assholes like Hitler to exist… Cancer… AIDS… if he’s pro life, he sucks at showing it.

The thought on the bumper sticker is as simplistic as the people who feel the need to proudly display it.
I find peace in knowing that these close minded, hate breeding, failed examples of human evolution will all die bitter, twisted and alone.
They will have spent all thier energy on trying to fix what they consider issues with the human race, instead of realizing thier lives are the ones that suffered.

That particular bumper sticker is the slogan for a reactionary Fundamentalist group calling itself the “Promise Keepers.” They hold huge, men-only rallies all across the US, whose attendees chant Jesus slogans, hold each other, and then go home and dominate their wives–Promise Keeper philosophy is based on the notion that since God is male and men are made in God’s image, men have a natural “leadership position” over women.
Their numbers are dwindling these days, but they still occasionally hold political rallies and urge people to “take back America for Jesus,” whatever that means.

Neato!

I must be hiding my head in a hole again. I haven’t seen any of the marriage = man + woman bumper stickers…
Yeah, me neither, but I am in eastern Massachusetts.
I’m in Rhode Island, and I haven’t seen them either. They’d bug me alright, though. I really like that second image, but I’m a math geek. – ZM
Consider yourself lucky! I see ’em a couple times a week; they’re distributed by the 700 Club or some such organization.

Feel free to reproduce.
Egad, Franklin! Are you hitting on me?!?
Seriously, I like the designs a lot, and in particular the first one.
“Egad, Franklin! Are you hitting on me?!?”
Nooo, I’m seeking to DESTROY YOU!!!

Cool. Unfortunately I saw on the news the other day that yet another state (Ohio I think?) has banned gay marriage.
Grrrr.

I once saw a bumper sticker which said “Real Men Love Jesus.”
