Bad days…

URL of the Day: “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” in stop-motion Lego animation.

=======

I’m sick. It sucks. Woke up Saturday morning with a sore throat, and by Saturday evening it was a full-blown “stuffy fuzzy head” thing.

The second girlfriend stopped by last night, and I wasn’t even feeling up to spending any time with her…

In any event, it occurs to me that I’ve been more excited about my upcoming trip to MacWorld San Fransisco in early January than I am about Christmas. Yes, I knowm, I know…what can I say?

Off to bed…*sniff*

      • Poor thing. I won’t bore you with all the mother-hen-type suggestions. (steam, hot tea, chicken soup, spoonsful of horseradish, sinus chisel…) But I sure hope you improve enough to enjoy xmas without being in a total fog. Take care of yourself, and I’ll get back to you with something more tangible once we get this holiday thing dealt with. 🙂

          • Ah, it all depends on how desperately (and suddenly) you want your sinuses cleared. If I know it’s effective, I often prefer the steamroller approach to treating symptoms.

          • heheh.. in our house it’s 10 drops of tobasco sauce in a glass of water.. spicy.. but maybe more gentle than horse radish. I hope you feel better by now, seeing as I’m posting this days after the fact.

          • The ULTIMATE holistic remedy

            The extreme cure:
            A tea made from peeled, ginger root slices boiled for 5 minutes, add garlic cloves crushed and chopped, boil a few minutes longer and pour into a mug with freshly squeezed lemon and cayenne pepper or Tabasco sauce. The hard-core add honey… It’s easier to swallow it without (my personal preference).

            Whuf!

            Well, I’m on the road to recovery, no thanks to any of the remedies listed above…not that I don’t appreciate the suggestions, mind you, but when it comes to things like horseradish and Tabasco sauce and ginger root, I’m something of a wuss.

            Actually, the neck cramp was a lot worse than the cold. But I found the solution to that one: a couple of my wife’s Vicoden tablets. They left me feeling decidedly sleepy and woozy-headed, but they do work as advertised. It was like a hammer coming down on the pain…take one and twenty minutes later, the pain is just plain gone.
