Update on the Franklin

Still sick.

That’s the bad news. The good news is I’m not horking up internal organs any more, and I can breathe without feeling like I’ve got bits of broken glass where they shouldn’t be. Even felt good enough yesterday to leave the apartment to go shopping and do laundry, both of which needed to be done in the worst possible way.

On the down side, it’s hard to walk from the door to the mailbox without wheezing, and all the various medications are making me feel almost as crappy as the damn bacteria. Plus I still sound like a frog being strangled at the bottom of a deep well when I try to talk. Thank God for Netflix, that’s all I can say.

Liam the kittycat has been absolutely delighted to have me home for the past three weeks, at least. Poor little guy is going to think I’ve abandoned him once I start working again. He follows me around the apartment and curls up on my lap when I crash on the couch. He’s in the habit of sitting on the edge of the tub when i shower and watching me with this expression:

Doctor’s appointment again the day after tomorrow. Probably more chest X-rays and stuff. If they don’t like what they see, the next step may be to go into the hospital for IV antibiotics. Ugh.

  1. Now that is a CUTE kittypicture 😀 😀 😀

Sorry to hear that you’re still struggling, although I’m really glad to hear that you’re improving. Best of luck at your doctor’s appointment, I hope that you’re not in need of the IV stuff after all. *fingerscrossed*

  3. Glad you’re feeling at least a little better Franklin! This is not stuff to be fooling around with though, so hospital it is if the docs say so! Besides, your scheduled appearance on the Left Coast is greatly anticipated, and your loyal fans would be sorely disappointed!

  5. I’m glad you’re feeling a bit better, but it sucks that you’re still sick. Hope the doctor appointment goes well.
That is possibly the cutest picture of Liam ever. Give him snorgles for me. (I’m sorry that we never got to hang out while I was in town, but you did need the rest. Next time you won’t be sick!)

  7. aww, sweetie, I hope you feel better soon! And I second the vote for eating chicken-noodle soup! Just eat healthier in general and maybe you wouldn’t get quite so sick, or sick so often 🙁 I don’t like it when you’re not well.

  9. Glad you’re better. Pneumonia is a big scary deal. You also made me guffaw first thing in the morning. Takes a great deal to keep a sense of humor with pneumonia – on the other hand, it takes any kitteh to make me laugh, really, let alone a ridicolously cute pinkie-nosed one like Liam.

I had a cat who loved to stay in the same room with me when I showered, basking in the heat. She also loved curling up in front of the electric fan heater. And curling up on damp laps, too. The current one only goes into the tub to spring attacks on me from its depths.

  11. Hope you get better without having to resort to IVs. *shudder*

    Cute cat.

Appropos of nothing, my husband and I downloaded Onyx to play on the 8th anniversary of our first date. Free version, since we’re broke, and we didn’t get to finish, lest dinner burn, but it was very enjoyable. Plan on getting the registered version when one or both of us has a decent job. Very cool. Thank you!
