Third: Spending the evening this evening with S; Shelly’s spending time with S‘s boyfriend this afternoon. Yay!

Fifth: I had about two hours invested in a 2,000+-word post, with links, that got eaten by LJ…grr. I foolishly typed it in Explorer for PC, so it’s gone. Is it just me, or if an error occurs when trying to make a post, should the LJ page actually print the text of the post along with the error message? That way, you wouldn’t lose it if something happened…
Thanks for the heads-up. is in my default view, so I caught this one this morning. I’ve seen other articles about Sir2 before, but I can’t recall now where. It may have been on the Extopian mailing list, where caloric restriction has been discussed on several occasions.
The evidence is inconclusive, but seems to be pointing in interesting directions. If it’s found to be reasonably safe it’d be nice if Sir2 or resveratrol could be easily added to one’s diet. I’d certainly find it easier to take a supplement than to half starve myself! 🙂

Firefox. You can click on a link, hit ‘back’, and your form input is still there.
I used to have a habitual behavior when I did use IE, where I would select all and copy the post to the clipboard before submitting it, just in case. Alas, it’s no longer ingrained since I’ve been using Firefox for so long, so I’ll probably get bitten really hard someday when I have to use IE.
Really, though, I think browsers should buffer your form submissions in some way that makes it possible to get them back, like in a temp file or something.
