Fun link o’ the Day

Run MacOS X on your Xbox.

First, mod your Xbox to run software not approved of by the High Corporate Office in Redmond. Then, install Linux. Then, compile and install the Linux PowerPC emulator. Then, config it. Then, create a disc image of the MacOS Installer CD. Then, stick the disc image on the Xbox hard drive. Then, run the emulator. Then, install MacOS X.

Oh, but don’t try any heavy lifting…the PowerPC emulation environment is so slow, running the installer takes around ten hours(!). On the good side, though, a display of geekery this excessive is bound to get you laid… 🙂

    • So what’s the deal with CherryOS, anyway? Their Web site seems to be in yoyo mode (up and down and up and down…), and there’s talk on some of the technical forums I read that their emulator is actually a hoax.

      • I haven’t heard too much from my brother since he mentioned it first a week or so ago (He’s in Maui now, so the time zone difference is harsh). It was just announced on tuesday though and apparently the web site was up and down because they were slashdotted immediately on release. I hope it’s not a hoax because then he’s likely in a bad job state 🙂 He just got the job two weeks ago too. I’ll update if I learn more.
