Last night, zaiah and I went shopping at Target for curtains for our new house.
There are, as it turns out, a bewildering array of different kinds of curtains, in different patterns and textures, almost all of which are stunningly ugly.
One brand of curtain carried by Target is Eclipse brand curtains, which are entirely opaque and block out…well, let me show you. Apologies for the poor quality of the image; it came from my iPhone. The bit I’ve circled in red is the interesting bit.
BLACK HOLE CURTAINS HFS
yes! they actually draw light to them, and destroy it, reducing the total amount of light in the universe.

If they block every bit of outside light, and also absorb a good bit of light from inside, you could maybe call that over 100%…
But it’s a stretch.

NewScientist would love this….
As would Consumer Reports.

I’d write the company and complain. “You said these curtains block out over 100% of light. But I’ve tried everything, and I can only get them to block out 100%. I want my money back.”

I want to know if that includes infrared, ultraviolet, gammar rays, x rays, and other magnetic radiation, or just visible light? If the former — I’ll take two!
All of those and a few we dont know about yet…

I have two of those curtains!
They actually suck out light from the nearby neighborhood. We’ve had to cover them up during the day time so the neighbors don’t complain.

Were they cloth or plastic?
I like how one of the uses is children’s rooms…
…’cause apparently they’re catering to the “I don’t want anyone to see what I’m doing to my children” market.
They’re actually cloth lined with a plastic-like material
