feorlen is moving.
When we first became involved, about ten years ago, she lived here in Tampa. Now she’s in Atlanta, which is about seven hours away by car or half an hour by plane…far, but not too far. We still see each other often.
The pressure has been growing for quite some time, however–calling her to San Francisco. It’s the right place for her to be, for a number of reasons, not the least of which is her career.
Still, it’s hard to bridge such a gap in a romantic relationship.
And so, I, the person who said he’d never be involved in a long-distance relationship, will soon find himself in two. Go figure.
long distance
Bummer, dude. At least you have someone to show you ’round SF…
Re: long distance
Funny you should mention that… did just that on my last trip out. 🙂

Re: Glowing
A good point. It doesn’t exactly make the distance not matter, but you will enjoy the beauty of her unfolding so much.

After a friend of mine got involved in a long distance relationship and I said I would never do this, of course I got involved in one accross the country where I lived. I should have known better ’cause after it ended I got in another one, this time accross different countries with an ocean in the middle that finally led me to the US. At lest I accumulated lots of frequenty flier miles 🙂
It sucks when people that matter to us move so far away… Best wishes.

Re: Glowing
“She seems so happy about the situation, though.”
It comes and goes. Right now, she’s alternating between ecstasy and depression…you only saw half the equation. We’ll see what happens, I suppose.
