  1. that is still one of the weirdest things I’ve seen on regretsy, made that much worse by the fact that I know someone that would actually like it and wear it.

  3. I take it you’ve not been to the French Quarter of New Orleans, because if you had, you’d know that preserved gator heads are one of the big tourist trap souvenirs for sale–they come in a variety of sizes, from little bitty ones to great, big, “how the FUCK is that going to fit in my luggage?!?” ones. Honestly, I have to admit it grossed me out, and was probably one of the things that contributed to the very odd vibe I got about the place the last time I was there. (I literally had to run out of one of the voodoo gift shops–not Marie Laveau’s, FWIW–because I had SUCH a bad feeling about the place.) I do love NOLA, and want to go back sometime, but there are definitely things down there that make my skin crawl, and the gator heads are one of them.

  5. The thing that I don’t understand is that it says it was worn in order to promote the use of synthetic fur, as in real fur is bad. Wouldn’t that make real alligator head bad as well? Have methods to remove the heads of animals without killing them been discovered and I am just hearing of this now?

Other than that, I want one, just for the WTF factor, but I don’t want $180 of it.

  7. They’re RATS! I grew up not too far from NOLA and we called them nutria rats and hoped that we only saw them from the inside of a car. Big, nasty buggers. Blech. (But then, I understand that minks are not very nice critters, either.)
